Tea Guava Comfort
Ripe Fruit and Spice
Summary
A rosy and aromatic infusion, joining the unmistakable fragrance of ripe guava with the warmth of cinnamon for comforting days.
Benefits
May contribute to intestinal comfort and offer natural vitamin C from the fruit, besides bringing a sense of satiety and warmth. Does not replace medical advice or treatment for health conditions.
Ingredients
- 1 ripe red guava (well washed and chopped)
- 1 small cinnamon stick
- 500 ml water
- 1 teaspoon honey (optional)
Preparation
- 1. Boil water with cinnamon for 5 minutes.
- 2. Add chopped guava and cook on low heat for 8 to 10 more minutes, until the fruit softens well.
- 3. Turn off, lightly mash the pieces in the pot, and steep for 5 minutes.
- 4. Strain very well through a fine sieve to remove all seeds and serve warm.
Notes
Adult use. It is essential to strain well: guava seeds are hard and may cause serious issues in people with diverticulosis or intestinal sensitivity. People with diabetes or insulin resistance should consider the natural fruit sugar released into the water. Pregnant or nursing women and people on medications should consult a professional before regular use.
