5.0
Excellent

Summary

Warm drink made with boiled onion and honey, traditionally used for cough comfort.

Benefits

May help bring comfort in coughs and mild throat irritation as a warm sweet drink. Does not replace medical evaluation.

Ingredients

  • 1 liter water
  • 2 organic onions quartered with skin
  • 4 teaspoons honey (or to taste)

Preparation

  1. 1. Boil water with well-cleaned onions. If organic, keep the skin.
  2. 2. Simmer on low heat for 15-20 minutes.
  3. 3. Turn off and let it rest for 5 minutes.
  4. 4. Strain and sweeten with honey when warm.
